April is Oral Health Awareness Month

Did you know that every hour of the day, twenty four hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days per year someone will die from oral cancer? April is Oral Cancer Awareness Month. Oral cancer awareness is low within the American public. Though many believe that smoking and tobacco are the only risk factors, but that is far from true. The fast growing population of oral cancer patients is young, healthy nonsmokers. Researchers have found that there is a connection between Oral Cancer and the HPV virus. The Commonwealth Dental Association (CDA) puts oral cancer at the top of its list of priorities. Don’t wait any longer get your oral cancer screening done this month!
